The 2nd Annual Twin Cities Kentucky Derby Party hosted by First Thursday Happy Hour celebrates our community of friends coming together in elegant hats, dresses, seersucker, cigars and Mint Juleps… honoring the traditions established at the venerable Churchill Downs!

The party kicks off at Noon. The Turf Club VIP Party in the Supperclub is sponsored by Audi Mpls/St.Paul and Cambria.
Turf Club VIP ticket holders kick -off the party in the Supperclub at Noon and enjoy an Open Bar, beautiful Brunch Buffet and live music at the Piano Bar until 3pm. This is a very limited ticket and will sell out fast! Grandstand ticket holders kick-of the party in the Brewhouse at noon with delicious appetizers & mint julep tasters passed by Redemption Liquor Ambassadors 1-3pm, cash bar and pre-race event big screen viewing. The Brewhouse has access to the Deck where the live music starts at 2pm with Bluegrass music from “The High 48s” playing outdoors from 2-5pm. DJ Ronny D will be mixing tunes in the Brewhouse from 2-4pm. Mix and mingle with some of the most fun people in the Twin Cities. Enjoy the Brewhouse, the Deck or the Boathouse area.

5:24pm is Post time, and all eyes will turn to the screens for what is commonly referred to as the most exciting two minutes in sports, and also as “The Run for the Roses®!”

Following the Race the contest winners are announced. Past winners will tell you to dress Derby style to possibly win “Best Dressed”, “Best Dressed Couple”, “Best Hat” and more!

After the race get down with the funky sounds of DJ Ronny D, and then let’s dance off all those Mint Juleps in style! Don’t forget that May 5th is also Cinco de Mayo, so stay for the Cindo de Mayo Dance Party in the Brewhouse from 7-10pm. We can’t wait to welcome you to a fun-filled day!

 

The 144th consecutive running of the Kentucky Derby will be the latest in a colorful history of horse racing.
